Los Arcos

/Hi All

This morning I'm in Los Arcos

A good day yesterday, 18km's covered and slept in a crazy tiny village last night called Villamayor de Monjardin - about 100 residents - it has quite a history if you like that stuff - its beautiful. I wouldn't last a day there, but it's truly is beautiful. Also the free wine tap was fun not the best ever but maybe the most interesting. My sunglasses broke yesterday, thankfully and of course it's cloudy today. I will get new ones in Logrono. A lot of very happy locals after Barcelona's big victory on the weekend.

I'm getting up early everyday and leaving things behind every night to lighten my load (nothing important) like no need to keep carrying magazines -so I read them and left them for others.

in Lorco Tonight

Hi All

Traveled 21 kms today and landed at a wonderful guest house in Lorco.

Four people I met on my journey so far are staying here. Two korean's (Lee and Quack) a 77 year old Swiss man and a guy from France named Alexia (not so sure of the spelling. Alexia and I traveled together for a few kms mostly uphill but my French and his Englisb are not so good, so not much talking.

A brilliantly sunny day, the scenery was amazing and part of the road was an ancient roman road.

I've included some pics taken on the playbook today.

cheers

on my way

Hey All

I arrived in Pamplona on Thursday afternoon. After exploring the town and buying a usb adapter plug I finally got to bed for about 12 hours .
Friday morning I hit the road about 11am and walked for about 17 km's. I stayed in a town called Uterga last night without wifi. I think I've brought along too much stuff - which seems to be actually what I was looking to avoid but traveling light has never been one of my strengths.
Unfortunately, l'm still trying to figure out this playbook, so no photos to share yet as I cant figure out how to attach them from emails but later today wifi permitting I'll get some photo's on by taking hem directly from this tablet.

I'm getting back on the road now, it's a beautiful spring day here on my way towards Puente la Rena.

Countdown

So I'm just days away from leaving for Spain to begin my Camino adventure; a bit of a walk to slow down, in addition to other things.  "We live in a fast-paced society.  Walking slows us down."  ~Robert Sweetgall (not the guy from SNL's TV Funhouse that's Robert Smigel)

Lots to do before I depart but things are coming together pretty well and I have some time set aside this weekend to celebrate with family and friends.

As I travel, depending on my connectivity, I'll look to share some pics, thoughts and brief stories

If you want to know a little more about the Camino, a movie directed by Emilio Estevez opened in the UK last week and will be opening in North America this September. http://theway-themovie.com/#

Thanks for joining me along My Way
