Hi All
left Aztorga this morning after a good night sleep. A great walk this morning in the bright sunshine, although a bird decided to crap on my lucky hat as I left Astorga. I suppose that makes my lucky hat even luckier. On route I passed several folks walking slowly through their injuries. My plan this afternoon is to go ahead another 10kms to Manjarin at the top of the mountain (traveling from 900m to 1550m). Planning to stay at a very rustic spot so it will be much like camping tonight. No wifi for sure.
Tomorrow my plan to go 25kms down the mountain to Ponferrada which is a decent size town of about 70,000. Tomorrow night is not going to be a rustic spot for rest.
Yesterday was my toughest day since Logrono. Just a long dirty Monday (I was so dusty and dirty from the trails), after 33kms arrived in in Astorga and left the Meseta behind. Some great scenery yesterday through an area they used to do jousting. i am happy to get through the Spain prairies and onto a new phase of my journey.
cheers Tim
ps, The day after I was at the running of the bulls in Sahagun someone running was killed.
