So after all the walking through the praires (Meseta) I needed a day of rest. So Saturday was a perfect day for that. By bus three of us headed into Leon (a beautiful city) the first stop was the post office (which like most things in Spain is not open Sundays) so I shipped ahead more the 3kgs of my stuff onto Santiago. Then to the hotel and I checked into a hotel close to the cathedral. A great spot except for the 30+ minutes I was stranded in the elevator just before dinner last niggt. So a day of good shopping and R&R as i prepare for the next push along the journey.
Todaay (Sunday) was a beautiful sunny day and around 25kms onto Villar de Mazarife. Tomorrow its about 30kms to Astorga and onto the Cordillera Cantabrica region.

Tim - ski poles??? I thought you were trying to lighten your load! Those aren't roller shoes are they? Looks like you're having fun (& 2/3rds the way to Santiago)! See you soon Jim & Barb
